The new chamber trio was introduced to the Kragujevac audience

The Chamber Trio, for now without a specific name, held a very specific concert within the concert season “Convivium Musicum 17/18”, on November 29th, 2017, in the Grand Hall of the First Kragujevac Gymnasium. This trio, which has been playing together for only a few months, is composed of our prominent soloists and professors who have come together in a common love of chamber music and the joy of joint playing. Dejan Mladjenovic (viola), Goran Kostic (double bass) and Natalija Mladenovic (piano) formed an active music ensemble open to the performance of music of different epochs. At the concert in Kragujevac we had the opportunity to listen to the works of Bach, Brahms and Ljubica Maric. Apart from the joint performance, these artists presented themselves to the audience with solo performances. This gave the impression of desire to get acquainted with the audience in a separate presentation before the first joint concert held in our city. The direct contact with the audience, the announcement of a piece by the performers themselves (Dejan Mladjenovic) contributed to this – a wonderful practice that, unfortunately, is slowly disappearing. The concert was opened with the soft sound of Mladjenovic’s viola. With a technique, he sounded the music of Bach in the best possible way. Then, Goran Kostic presented the possibilities of his instrument and showed the double bass as a very melodic instrument by performing the Invocation for Contrabass and Piano by Ljubica Maric. Natalija Mladenovic then “switched” us into a romantic epoch by performing sparingly and with occasional dynamic and sound accents Brahms’ Intermezzo in A Major, perhaps his most expressive short piano composition. The concert was rounded up with Brahms’ Trio in a minor op. 114, an extensive and complex work, especially when it comes to achieving specific sonority that Brahms chamber music requires. Listening to a harmonized trio in a combination of viola – double bass – piano, it was a real pleasure for all the experts and music lovers. In the end, we can only add to this, on the one hand, young, and on the other – a very mature ensemble, we wish many more successful concerts like this that they prepared for the Kragujevac audience.
