We round up the excellent five with the Piano Ensemble 5+

5th International festival of chamber music Convivium Musicum ends on September 28th, 2018. We will complete the great five years of existence with the performance of the Piano Ensemble 5+.
Piano Ensemble 5+ consists of five pianists from Serbia: Julija Bal, Jelena Bajic, Jovana Radovanovic, Stevan Spalevic and Nemanja Egeric. These exceptional young artists already have rich and successful performing career, filed with cooperation with top and renowned musicians, performances across Serbia and the world, as well as a large number of awards and recognitions. Their extraordinary piano skills will be presented in various forms of piano ensembles, at a concert that differs in concept from the others. There will be three concert pianos on the stage where five pianos will perform an attractive program, with a special surprise at the end of the concert. Plus, in the title of the ensemble 5+, also marks the guests of the concert that will appear on the scene with the pianists.

Piano Ensemble 5+ will be presented at the closing of the Festival with the following program:
P. I. Tchaikovsky – Nutcracker Suite
I. Stravinsky – Le Sacre du printemps
M. Ravel − Boléro
A. Lavignac − Galop-marche a huit mains

We are confident that the outstanding five pianists and their guests will create a great atmosphere and in a spectacular way close our jubilee edition of the Festival.
With great thanks to the City of Kragujevac, the Theatre for Children and other friends who gave us support in the realization of this concert, we owe special gratitude to the Music School “Dr Miloje Milojevic”, the National Museum Kragujevac and the Faculty of Philology and Art.
The closing ceremony of the Festival will be held at the Theatre for Children Kragujevac starting at 20h and the entrance is free.

Biography: Piano Ensemble 5+

EM__8162Duo Jelena and Julia are pianists Jelena Bajic and Julija Bal, who started their collaboration during the studies at the Academy of Art in Novi Sad in the class of prof. Jokut Mihailovic, with whom both graduated. At the initiative of the professor from AUNS, they founded a piano duo, under the mentorship of prof. Marine Milic Apostolovic. They draw attention of the audience when they, for the first time performed in an unusual edition in the Novi Sad Synagogue, cooperating with prof. actors Ivana Klemenc. This was within the multimedia project “Muzika i scenski pokret”, which besides the performance required them to advocate in the field of mime and stage movement. Due to interest, similar performances took place throughout Serbia. Duo Jelena and Julija had significant performances, including those at the events such as: “AUNS Days”, “Night of Museums”, International EPTA Conference in Novi Sad, opening the “Slavenski” Competition. They held two concerts at the Kolarac hall in Belgrade. In addition to the chamber music, Jelena and Julija are also very active as solo performers. In November 2012, Jelena and Julija returned from the International Competition “Victory Caffa Rigetti” (Italy) with awards in the category of soloists, where Jelena won the first, and Julia the second prize, and in the category of chamber ensembles, where the piano duo won the second prize and received a call from the jury for further performances.

stevan-nemanjaThe piano duo STEVAN NEMANJA was founded in 2015 and consists of pianists Stevan Spalević and Nemanja Egerić. As early as 2016, the duo was named Laureate of the International Competition “Davorin Jenko” in Belgrade and won the first prize with a maximum number of points (100), in the category of chamber ensembles at “9. Music talents review” Veliko Gradiste, in 2016. Currently, they are mastering their knowledge at post-graduate studies of chamber music at the “Scuola di Musica di Fiesole” Academy in Florence (Italy) in the class of legendary Italian pianist Bruno Canino. The piano duo held concerts in Florence, Nis, Belgrade, Vrnjacka Banja, Trstenik and Kraljevo, as well as a remarkable performance at the International Festival of Chamber Music “Franz Schubert” in Nis, 2017. In 2018, Duo Stevan Nemanja devoted themselves to collaborating with percussionists from various countries, performing capital works of classical literature. In addition, in May 2018, the duo Stevan Nemanja performed at the “Musica al Ponte 2018” International Music Classics Festival in Florence, along with Italian percussionists Pierre Macetti and Ricardo Soldier. In June, they played a concert with percussionists Srdjan Palackovic and Nevena Djordjevic at FMU in Belgrade, with whom, in the second part of 2018, they will perform in the Kolarac Hall.

JovanaJovana Radovanovic was born in Kragujevac in 1985. At hometown of Kragujevac she gained primary and secondary education at the music school “Dr. Miloje Milojevic” in the class of prof. Natalija Tomic. She finished primary and postgraduate studies of the piano at NMAU “P. I. Tchaikovsky ” in Kiev in the class of prof. Yuri Kot. Education in the field of chamber music, she continued with doctoral studies at FMU in Belgrade in the class of prof. Zorica Cetkovic. Jovana is actively building an artistic career both in Serbia and abroad. She has realized over a hundred performances and concerts in Macedonia, Ukraine, France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Germany, Cyprus, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina and all major Serbian concert halls. Her teaching career began in 2008 at the Music school “Dr Miloje Milojevic” in Kragujevac, and has been extended and continued at the Faculty of Philology and Art in Kragujevac since 2010, where she is currently teaching as an associate professor for the artistic field of Piano. So far, her students have achieved over 50 awards, mostly special and first ones, at Serbian and international competitions. She participated several times in the work of the juries at pianist competitions in Serbia.
