All known terminology, technical explanations and studies are not sufficient to explain the magic of chamber music of Johannes Brahms. That magic, that is impossible to present with words, Kragujevac’s audience experienced on the third evening of the International festival of chamber music Convivium Musicum. Every year, one concert is dedicated to the Festival’s ensemble that brings together musicians exclusively for the performance at the Festival. This year, the ensemble consisted of exceptional performers – Evenos string quartet, which presented itself to the audience the second night of the festival, and the celebrated pianist Boris Kraljevic. They performed the Brahms Piano Quintet op. 34 in F minor. In the mentioned composition can be heard all the Brahms’s brilliant composing skills: his Piano Quintets sound such as a compound of separate compositions for piano and string quartet. This symphonic quality of Brahms’s Chamber Music has come to the fore in Kraljevic’s energetic music-making, and in the beautiful color of the tone of string instruments. “Dialogue” on the stage led by piano and string quartet was perfectly understood by the large audience that has greeted performers with long ovations.
