In spirit of youth

During the first three days of April, Kragujevac has been a host of International festival of chamber music Convivium Musicum. Festival was organised for the second time by association of citizens of the same name, made of professionals from various domains in music. After last year successful “breakthrough” on art and festival scene of Serbia, this festival is aiming to become one of the most important festivals of classical music in Kragujevac and Serbia as well.

Concept of festival is designed in a way to bring world re-noun performers to Kragujevac and concerning that this is festival of chamber music, possibilities are numerous. Interests and needs of domestic public, both professionals and lovers of classical music, were taken in consideration. Throughout concerts held on 1st, 2nd and 3rd of April at Hall of First Gymnasium in Kragujevac, audience had an opportunity to enjoy different types of chamber ensembles performing music of various music epochs.

On the opening ceremony of Second international festival of chamber music Convivium Musicum public from Kragujevac had an opportunity to hear vocal quartet Collegium Vocale from Polish city of Bydgoszcz, that is actively performing over twenty years. This form of ensemble is rarely heard in Kragujevac. Also, for public was especially interesting program that they performed- medieval and renaissance music. Everything was rounded with pleasant and warm atmosphere that performers created on the scene and transferred to the full audience of First Gymnasium Hall.

Second evening of festival, numerous admirers of music had a chance to listen LP Duo, whose members include pianists Sonja Loncar and Andrija Pavlovic. After performance at Carnegie Hall, these respected Serbian pianists presented to audience in Kragujevac concert to remember. Their bluntness and obvious enjoying during spotless musicianship contributed to the complete “indrawn” to the interesting world of contemporary music of European and American composers

Second international festival of chamber music Convivium Musicum was completed with performance of wind quintet “Webern” from Vienna. This, not so usual chamber ensemble (flute, clarinet, fagot, horn and oboe) presented its self with music from various periods from classicism, romanticism to contemporary music. Prof for this statement are exceptional artists, large number of audience of all generations and atmosphere filled with enthusiasm that was passed on every listener at Hall of First Gymnasium in Kragujevac during three Festival days.
