Pianist Vladimir Gligoric held a concert in Kragujevac, within the Concert season “Convivium Musicum 16/17” on March 6th. Gligoric’s resital is one of the best concerts that the Kragujevac audience had the opportunity to hear during this Concert season. As a guest at concert, violinist Mia Kovacevic also played, performing Sonata for violin and piano by Vladimir Trajkovic, as well as our famous violinist Sasa Mirkovic, who performed with Gligoric Four preludes for violin and piano by Vladimir Jevtic. To the expert public, all three artists are well-known for their commitment to better promotion and the performance of the music of Serbian composers. Vladimir Gligoric is one of the few pianists who is intensely focused on exploring and performing the music of our contemporary composers in recent years. The audience had the opportunity to hear the performance of some of the older creative generations, such as the Three Impromties Op. 12 bis by Vlastimir Trajkovic, but also very young hopes of Serbian music like the composition of Stanko Simic – Five meditations for piano.
What Gligoric particularly highlights in his artistic expression are the works of Vasilije Mokranjac. Outstanding piano works of Mokranjac, in Gligoric’s performance, were as if they are completely “sounded”, exactly where and how it is needed. The audience in Kragujevac was pleased to hear three Mokranjac compositions: Five Preludes, Prelude and Intime. The conclusion is very clear and short: an outstanding pianist, a carefully selected program and great guests who have completed the sensory experience of Serbian piano music, whose wealth seems to be just now discovered.
